Susan K. Simpson of Richmond, Va., has been named the Executive Director for the Virginia Association of Fairs.Susan brings a wealth of experience to the position including 36 years with the Virginia Department of Agriculture, including 8 years in the 1990's when she served as the Executive Secretary for the fair association.Her new duties will be to assist the Board of Directors as they plan and implement their programs and services for the 55 county, regional and state fairs and associate members of the association.Susan has a strong background in marketing having served most of her years with the VDACS as a team member of the division of marketing.She also has many personal connections with association members across the state and a fondness for the industry that will serve her well as she embarks on this new mission.Susan can be reached by contacting the Virginia Association of Fairs at VAFairs@aol.com.

The Virginia Egg Council announces this years contest winners!!
The Virginia Egg Council Chiffon Cake contest was held at the Warren County Fairgrounds, Wonder Building on Saturday, August 9, 2008 12:00 Noon. A great time was had by all. The response was so great that we have been getting phone calls reankings. There were so many cakes that it is impossible to list them all. Here are the top three Chiffon Cakes:
