About The Virginia Association of Fairs
The Virginia Association of Fairs, Inc. is a not-for-profit private sector service association to benefit the Virginia fair industry. Membership includes approximately 50 county, regional and state fairs and approximately 150 associate members representing the midway, entertainment, food, supplier and service sectors. The association operates under the auspices of a 15-member Board of Directors, representing fairs in each of the states geographical regions and major population areas. Associate member representatives are included among the Board of Directors numbers. The association operates on an April 1 – March 31 fiscal year.
Fair member criteria is defined in Virginia Association of Fairs, Inc Bylaws as follows:
A fair shall, for the purpose of the bylaws be defined as, (A special event to showcase, all or in part, the following: agriculture, entertainment, commerce and exhibits, with awards and/or premiums offered.)
