Auction & Door Prizes

Dear Virginia Association of Fairs Members,

The Virginia Association of Fairs Annual Conference for 2024 will be held at The Williamsburg Lodge on January 4th to the 7th. Volunteers from the Chesterfield County Fair will organize the Silent and Live Auction for the Youth Scholarship Fund.

We are asking that each Virginia Association of Fairs member and Associate member participate in providing items for both the silent and live auctions. Please bring unique “must have” so we can get multiple bidders vying for that special item. Auction items may be dropped off on Thursday, January 4th between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM in the Virginia Foyer, and again on Friday, January 5th between 9:00 AM and 12 noon in the Virginia Foyer. Please remember to put your Fair’s name on your donated item. There will be sticky notes on the table should you forget to mark yours.

Bidding on Silent Auction items will begin at 8:00 AM on Saturday, January 6th. All bidding will close at 3:00 PM. Successful bidders may pay and pick up their treasures between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM on Saturday.

The Live Auction will be held immediately following the Gala on Saturday evening. Volunteers will be ready to accept your payments at the conclusion of the auction.

VAF is also requesting Door Prizes, which will be given away at different times during the Conference. Please bring as many as you possibly can. Please have your Door Prizes in bags ready to be given away. The Door Prizes may be dropped off in the Virginia Foyer when you bring your auction items. Please label as door prize items.
